Our hearts were sore as we wept and as we cried
Our feelings heightened with pain, ache and sorrow
We try to survive a moment without the ones who have died
And try to imagine that we won’t see them tomorrow
Their greatness continues as they journey into the light
So beautiful when alive, and now we know they’re gone
They grace us in our dreams as we sleep through the night
We will still feel them shining down as dusk turns to dawn
We feel relief because their lives were risked for a good cause
Trying to create peace for survival was their aim, their goal
The ones who chose to be part of the solution deserve applause
And we take comfort that in heaven will rest their soul
